    • Since HPP symptoms and their intensity can change, the impact of the disease may not always be obvious. Ask your patients about how symptoms may have impacted their ability to work, connect, learn, and live independently1-5

    In one study, assessment of patients with HPP (n=28) showed the following mean percent impairment related to7‡:

    ‡Longitudinal telephone-based survey administered to patients with HPP (N=50). Assessment based on Work Productivity and Activity Impairment Questionnaire: Specific Health Problem (WPAI:SHP) was answered by patients employed at baseline at the time of the survey (n=28/50). Survey results are based on patient-reported data and have not been formally validated in individuals with HPP.7

    §Patient-reported burden was assessed using the HPP Impact Patient Survey (HIPS; n=44). There were 5 patients (or caregivers/family members) who did not respond to this part of the survey. Survey instruments utilized in this study have not been validated in patients with HPP.8
